because you
can
because you
are
because you
know

that it is
life that has 
softened
you
that has taught
you
that hard is
for brick
and wood
and cement
not for heart
and soul
not for you

you bend
and sway
you welcome
you enclose
you buoy
you float
you adapt

and you do it soft
watercolour edges
blending with the earth
and sky and sea

so be soft
sometimes
it’s the very best
way
to survive.
