the walls in my house all have my children’s graffiti, including a huge stick figure and his name EMBLAZONED on the wall above my bed. i’ve been frustrated in the moment of discovery. but i’m grateful now that my children know to express themselves through their hands, translating their thoughts onto a page (or wall as the case may bed). their artistic ability continues to grow as that space is held wide open for them to speak with a pen.

it seems to me she only needs more paper. paper – yes, boundaries – not so much. imho.

the beginning of magic…..it IT MAGIC. mia still doodles on furniture. she’s 7. no it’s not the place to doodle…..but am i gonna tell Banksy that he can’t draw on Harrod’s of London? (or on my yoga studio in L.A.’s exterior wall? he did!) NO.

everywhere is a canvas. everything is art. everything is magic. there are no bounds. this is what it is to be a child. slowly we beat that out of them.

thankful i am raising my kids with mama’s who are trying so hard to put the beating magic away and just allow them to be. who they are. pure love.
